The Las Vegas Story is the third release by L. A. punk outfit The Gun Club. It marks the return of guitarist Kid Congo Powers (absent from the group's second record), who'd spent the preceding years recording with The Cramps. Helmed by the late Jeffery Lee Pierce, The Gun Club has grown significantly in stature in recent years as an important link in America's contribution to punk rock music and rightly so. The Las Vegas Story marks Pierce at his lyrical best and is the band's most focused and artistically ambitious record. Remastered for Drastic Plastic Records by Masterdisk, this limited edition vinyl pressing sounds significantly better than it ever has.
